Week 3 Term 3

Last week, I learnt in tech arts some music cultures and we wrote a blues song followed by more music cultures and then garage band. We also did a first aid course on Wednesday afternoon. We learnt how to see whether somebody needs help or not, if so which way to treat them and how to treat them we also learnt the drs(doctors a.b.c.d   

Week 8

Last week, in tech arts, we did our healthy cafe and got parents and caregivers to come and taste the food that we made. I made my own recipe and learned a new variety of herbs and spices in the process.
For writing, I learned how to properly proofread and edit my writing to a high standard because I wasn't very good at it. For maths, I learned how to multiply, divide, add and subtract integers. For reading, I learned how to find and show evidence for character traits.

Camp!!!

The day after we arrived we went to Zealandia which is a bird sanctuary built around a valley. I learnt how to tell what birds are pied shags by their figure and colour and what birds are tuis' by their flight pattern. Then after that, we went to the holocaust centre. They had a couple of survivors there explaining what happened. Later that day we went to weta workshop and got another idea for a job. The next day we went to the space station. I learnt lots of different facts such as winds make it up to 120,000 km/h on saturn. And then we went to parliament and had some discussions. The day after that, we went to capital E. First, my group (group 1) went the TV section to create a scene called Once Upon A Crime. The next session was in the media lab. In there we made our own google cardboard world. Then we went to bug lab and had a debate to see if people should kill all mosquitos. The next day, we went to the zoo. We had a small tour and then went to explore. My favourite was the carcadal. The we went to do some snorkeling. The water was freezing. 

Term 1 Week 6 And 7

Week 6
In week six, for maths, I revised BEDMAS. B brackets/ E exponents/ D&M division & multiplication/ A&S addition & subtraction. I also learnt a Japanese cultural dance when the Makuhari students came to New Zealand. In french we learnt how to pronounce animals such as parrot; un perruche, pig; un cochon. In week seven I learnt more about integers. I learnt how to add and subtract integers and multiply integers.

Term 1 Week 4 Reflection

Last week I learnt a bit of place value for math. I was shown what total value, face value and place value all meant. If we were to find the total value of the 10,000's column in 546,234, it would be 40,000. If we were to find the face value of the 10,000's column in 546,23, it would be 4. If we were to find the place value of the 6 in 546,234 it would be the 1,000' column. In tech arts we did some revision on setting up our sewing machine and we also did a bit of signs to show what not to do with the fabric. I also learnt a couple of techniques on cutting the fabric with shears. We are also learning how to make a jersey.
